Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Community Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for the overall planning and effective delivery of aquatics programming and related services. The Head Lifeguard/Aquatic Program Supervisor shall ensure that the pool facility is safely operated as outlined in current provincial legislation, policy and best practices. The position also requires the Head Lifeguard/Aquatic Program Supervisor to oversee staff, ensure attendance and participation in any in-service training as required, provide appropriate directions to staff and report on all matters pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the facility. 

This position also works as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor teaching the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program and evaluate participant skills, provide feedback, assess and communicate with parents/guardians.  

Qualifications:

·       Strong organizational skills, problem solving and communication skills.

·       National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Certification

·       Standard First Aid/CPR & AED

·       Valid Swim Instructor Certification

·       Experience in a supervisory/leadership role

Hours of Work and Compensation:

Anticipated start date – June 21, 2025, to the end of August

35-40 hours per week, $20.00 per hour. 

Evenings and weekends, as required
