Job Summary:
In this key leadership role, the Vice President – Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer (VPCS/CFO) will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient financial and corporate service functions are maintained which align with the Hospital’s strategic planning and operational goals and objectives. Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, and in collaboration with the executive and management teams, the VPCS/CFO will develop and execute on strategic business and project plans that drive significant operational, financial and administrative components in support of the overall objectives of the Hospital. The VPCS/CFO will also lead and support a full range of initiatives related to: corporate services, capital and operational planning & project management; risk management; organizational development; finance and procurement; information technology; facilities and maintenance; health information; stakeholder engagement; decision support and corporate governance.
Key leadership initiatives for the VPCS/CFO are associated with:
· Operational reviews and routinely assessing the business planning cycle to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.
· Managing various corporate initiatives and monitoring key performance indicators; reinforce best governance practices; and improve operational capacity.
· Champion a creative workforce approach/strategy that empowers a high-performance culture in a collaborative manner and environment.
· Foster supportive services with external parties and stakeholders in mutually beneficial arrangements that align with Hospital and health system priorities.

Education:
Certifications and Registrations
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation is required.
- Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and an acceptable specialization in finance, business administration, accounting, informatics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skill, Ability & Experience:
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in managing human, financial and information resources, preferably in the public / healthcare sectors.
- Recent and extensive (5+ years) management experience as a senior executive, providing corporate leadership and direction in financial resource management decision support.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience as a senior executive in the establishment and maintenance of management and control frameworks, policies, practices and systems in one or more of the following areas: finance, human resources, or information management / technology.
- Experience working in a shared services environment is an asset.
- Experience in liaising, consulting and establishing partnerships and productive working relationships with public and private sector organizations.
- Experience as a senior executive in providing expert advice and making comprehensive recommendations to senior officials of the organization on strategic direction, complex policy issues and change management initiatives.
- Experience working in collaborative relationships with other executives, directors, senior financial leaders and senior managers associated with managing finance activities and/or leading financial management change, preferably in the public sector.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary financial managers and professionals.
- Proven experience as a team leader with a commitment to create, support and sustain an environment that enables staff to achieve results and to develop and build organizational capacity for the future.
- Bilingualism in both official languages is considered an asset.
