About the Role
We’re hiring a Production Assistant to support day-to-day manufacturing operations through a mix of coordination,
documentation, and hands-on support on the shop floor. This role helps keep work flowing by assisting with production
organization, tracking job progress, supporting materials and paperwork, and working directly with the production team
to help organize workflows and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Workflow Coordination
• Assist the Production Manager with organizing daily work plans and shop floor priorities
• Work with team leads to ensure jobs are set up with the correct paperwork, drawings, and materials
• Help maintain clear workflows by supporting staging, labelling, and job organization on the shop floor
• Collect daily updates on job status, constraints, and bottlenecks; escalate issues as required
• Support production meetings (notes, action items, follow-up)
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
Production Administration & Documentation
• Prepare and distribute work orders, and related job documentation
• Maintain and update job trackers, production dashboards, and due date/status reports
• File and maintain production records (inspection records, certificates, etc.)
• Support document control (revisions to forms, checklists, work instructions)
Materials, Purchasing, and Shipping Support
• Help track material requirements/shortages and follow up on ETAs as assigned
• Coordinate internal material requests and support communication between production, purchasing, and
receiving
• Assist with shipping documentation (packing slips, labels, courier bookings, etc.)
• Coordinate with shipping/receiving to confirm readiness, staging, and paperwork completion

Quality & Continuous Improvement
• Support basic quality documentation needs (non-conformance logs, rework tracking, corrective action followups)
• Help maintain organized work areas and paperwork flow
• Identify improvement opportunities and work with the team to improve efficiency and reduce rework
Qualifications & Skills
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset, but not a must have. Training will be
provided
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, is an asset)
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Clear communicator who can work effectively with both office and shop-floor teams
• Reliable, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on team environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes
• Basic math and measurement skills (or willingness to learn)
• Good attention to detail
• Basic hand-tool use is a plus but not required
Work Environment & Safety
• This role involves time in both office and shop environments
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn as required in production areas (e.g., safety
glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and other required PPE)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility during the day as needed
• Ability to bend, crouch, reach, and climb stairs as required to support shop-floor coordination
• Ability to lift and carry up to [25–40] lbs occasionally (e.g., job binders, small boxed parts, samples, tooling as
assigned)
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with moving equipment and overhead lifting
• Ability to wear required PPE for time spent in production areas
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment with noise, heat, and machinery
