Public Works Equipment Operator - Full time

Under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent the Public Works Equipment Operator is responsible for maintenance and repairs of roads, sidewalks, facilities, properties and infrastructure including water and sewer lines, parks, playgrounds and cemeteries. Duties include operation and maintenance of the Municipal Arena Complex, including the Arena Banquet Hall. The Public Works Equipment Operator operates various equipment, including heavy equipment.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (some evening and weekends in accordance with shift schedule) Must participate in weekly on call rotation.
Compensation:
· 2025 rate - $26.61 - $30.65 per hour, plus shift premiums as applicable.

Qualifications:
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess or willingness to obtain, a valid driver's license Class DZ
- Must possess or willingness to obtain ORFA Basic Refrigeration Certificate
- St. John's Ambulance First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Must be willing to take necessary training as required or mandated by the Employer.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment (trucks, loader, back loader, sidewalk plow) competently and safely.
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of roads, ditches, culverts, and water and sewer lines.
- Able to handle the required physical aspects of the position.
