Position – Processing Technician

Shift – Dayshift – 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday

Wage - $19.00 to start

We are currently hiring for the position of Processing Technician at our Kirkland Lake, Ontario location. This is a full-time, permanent role with a comprehensive compensation package that includes:

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Waste Material Handling: Tear down, separate, and consolidate waste materials and equipment using mechanical equipment and power tools.
  • Waste Material Processing: Clean and sample contaminated surfaces using solvent following established protocols.
  • Material Handling: Assist in unloading and loading materials from trucks/tankers.
  • Work Safely: Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow legal requirements and internal policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Wear PPE: Wear necessary protective gear such as respirators, safety goggles, Tyvek coveralls, safety gloves, hard hats, and safety boots.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the work area clean and organized through regular housekeeping activities to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Record Production: Document daily production activities, including quantities processed, any issues encountered, and other relevant information in production logs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year industrial experience.
  • Basic math for counting, sorting, and weighing.
  • Forklift experience an asset.
  • Experience with hand and power tools an asset.
  • Must has basic computer literacy skills.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Work Environment

  • Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects greater than fifty (50) pounds frequently.
  • Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, dust, and weather extremes.
