Fire Prevention Technician – Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems (VFSS) 

Diamond Fire Suppression Inc. is seeking an EXPERIENCED Fire Prevention Technician to join our team in Timmins/Kirkland Lake, Ontario. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment servicing vehicle fire suppression system across a variety of customer sites. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on vehicle fire suppression systems at customer locations. 

• Conduct mobile fire suppression system inspections and audits, providing recommendations for maintenance and system improvements. 

• Complete accurate service documentation and communicate findings with customers. 

• Travel to customer sites throughout the region, including occasional overnight or extended travel.

Qualifications 

• Experience with fire suppression systems. 

• Experience working in a mechanical shop or other hands-on role involving vehicles or heavy equipment. 

• Training in Ansul vehicle fire suppression systems  

• Other fire service certifications are an asset 

• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge. 

• Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, manuals, documentation, and to communicate safely and effectively on the mine site. 

• Experience using hand tools and power tools. 

• Comfortable working in underground mining environments. 

• Reading/interpreting drawings, specs, and manuals. 

• Excellent customer service and communication skills. 

• Comfortable using mobile technology and digital reporting tools. 

• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record. 

Physical & Safety Requirements 

This is a physically demanding, safety-sensitive position requiring work in a variety of industrial environments. 

Successful candidates must be able to: 

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted. 

• Work safely in confined or restricted spaces, including climbing ladders and accessing large mobile equipment. 

• Successfully complete pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing, where required. 

• Successfully complete a criminal background check.
