​Job Summary

Supervision Monitors provide general supervision and monitoring of students during nutrition breaks, recess, departure, and arrival times, both indoors and outdoors.

​Education Requirements

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent - required

Experience working in school setting – preferred

Skills and Ability Requirements

  • Demonstrate care and concern for the safety of all students.
  • Ability to keep your attention to the safety of the students
  • Promptness and dependability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team in cooperation with the school staff.
  • Willingness to address disciplinary issues and to report them to administration.
  • Ability to treat all students in a respectful, responsible, and fair manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate responses to student-initiated interactions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as the norm in all issues related to students, parents, and school.
  • Physically able to perform duties outside in all forms of weather.
  • Physically able to climb stairs and walk distances during supervision.
  • First Aid and CPR an asset.

Essential Requirements

  • Monitor and assist with arrival and departure of students during bus duty.
  • Organize students upon arrival and departure in an orderly manner.
  • Monitor outside yard duty during all recess periods.
  • Supervise hallways, classroom, and bathroom checks.
  • Monitor classrooms/lunch areas during breaks.
  • Monitor students in designated areas during inclement weather.
  • Ensure adherence to all COVID-19 and school safety protocols.
  • Always ensure the security and safety of students.
  • Address disciplinary issues and report any concerns regarding student behaviour to the Principal/Vice Principal.
  • Seek out Principal/Vice Principal guidance when required.

Compensation:   $20.64 per hour
